Consultation workshop on cross-border Free Route operations in Northern Europe (Oslo Gardermoen, September 7, 2017 ) -+
NEFAB air navigation service providers – ANS Finland, Avinor, EANS and LGS in collaboration with experts from EUROCONTROL Network Manager and partners in Danish/Swedish FAB – Naviair and LVF organised Customer Consultation at Oslo Gardermoen on 7th September 2017. The key objective of the workshop was to unlock the full potential of cross-border Free Route Airspace through exchanging experiences on the cross-border FRA operations and their impact on flight planning. In addition, airspace users were consulted on the need for fixed route network. The Agenda and presentation are attached below.
Meeting with flight planning and operations experts (Helsinki, May 26, 2016) -+
NEFAB Programme convened flight planning and operational experts in Helsinki on May 26 to discuss and exchange the experiences of using NEFAB Free Route Airspace. The objective of the meeting was to exchange flight-planning and operating experiences in the Free Route Airspace that was implemented in November 2015, and identify improvement areas for further developments within NEFAB and with our cooperating partners. Customer Consultation 2015 -+
The NEFAB Programme consulted their customers at the annual NEFAB Air Navigation Services Consultative Board meeting in Helsinki on October 12 2015. The purpose of the ANSCB is to consult air navigation service providers, airspace users and staff associations on the provision of services within NEFAB. The NEFAB Programme briefed stakeholders about the upcoming major changes in airspace structure and airspace management as of November 12 2015, and presented the 5-years Business Plan. The airlines and labor unions presented their point of views to NEFAB and the upcoming free route airspace. Presentations about the state of play of the Northern Europe Aviation Meteorology Consortium and the current issues under discussion in the NEBAF Council and Committees were also heard.

2015 Cross-border FRA Implementation workshop by the Network Manager -+
The Network Manager held an Operational Workshop on the Cross-Border Implementation of Free Route Airspace (FRA) in Brussels, on 29-30 June 2015. The workshop examined issues and sought practical methods for facilitating the future cross-border implementation of free route operations across Europe. A number of stakeholders - including States, ANSPs and FABs, and aircraft operators - came together to share their experiences and discuss the evolution of cross -border Free Route Airspace implementation. The NEFAB Programme was represented by Juha Holstila (Finavia/NEFRA Expert Group). Customer Days 2014 -+
NEFAB Programme Office organised customer consultation days in October 2014 in Helsinki and Oslo, to discuss with civil and military airspace users the implementation of the Free Route Airspace within the NEFAB airspace in November 2015. The topics presented and discussed comprised an introduction to the NEFAB Programme, airspace structures, Free Route Airspace, interface with Danish-Swedish FAB (NEFRA), Airspace Management and Air Traffic Flow and Capacity Management, as well as airspace availability for civil and military users.
