Airspace users and NEFAB Programme discuss Free Route Airspace experiences
2016-06-15

by NEFAB Programme

NEFAB Air navigation service providers welcomed flight planning and operational experts in Helsinki on May 26 to discuss experiences of using NEFAB Free Route Airspace so far and with regard to the future developments.

The meeting was held as sessions of presentations concurrent with questions and discussions.  Various operational topics related to flight planning, flexible use of airspace and future developments were discussed.  Dialogue with users is an important part of the stakeholder engagement in NEFAB Programme and helps setting up a repository for revisions and further improvements. It is very important in the light of the upcoming changes on June 23 when Free Route Airspaces in NEFAB EAST (Estonia, Finland and Latvia) and DK-SE FAB (Denmark and Sweden) will be connected seamlessly enabling airspace users to plan and fly in this area as if in one continuous airspace without borders.

NEFAB Programme appreciates participation and interest in the consultations and invites users to visit Airspace Users area/FRA Consultations for a full copy of the meeting notes and conclusions.
